Since 2007 I have worked with wickerwork, a material used by our ancestors to create containers, baskets for storing and transporting food or objects, which is equivalent to saying that they built for the first time – perhaps without them knowing it – a beautiful parable about the struggle of humanity to retain the ephemeral. Space fenced against time. The art of basketry developed with wicker sticks parallels the development of human societies around the globe. It is synonymous with civilization.
And since there is nothing more useful than the manifestation of emotions, the art of crossing reeds of the wicker grew from the merely utilitarian to the artistic expression.
